Done in a Day

Done-in-a-Days (DIADs) provide Junior League of Toronto members with direct community service opportunities. DIADs also increase awareness of the aims and activities of the JLT within the community. DIADs are intensive, half-day to day-long volunteer projects that are open to the entire membership. Some DIADs are New Member projects.

A Thank You Letter

Dear Catherine, Toni, Frances, Andrea, Joan and Lorie,

I thank all of you for helping wrap presents at York Region Media Group in December. It can be a challenge to find able and willing volunteers to help with our Angel Tree Campaign as everyone is very busy with their own lives.  This is not the case with the JLT. I’m so impressed with your dedication, zest and energy. I love DIAD’s!!

The festive season is all about sharing and caring for others. Your organization exemplifies this concept.  I love how you just jump in and do what is needed.  JLT played a major role with helping our Angel Tree Campaign.  You contributed over 50 donors hours in December!  Please know how much we appreciate you and what you do.  I pray that your partnership with us continues in 2010.

Wishing you all the best.

One of your biggest fans,
Robyn Magee

JLT and Pathways volunteers including - Selby Kostuik, Lorie Sikura, Brandon Gill-New, Janet Kerr, Melody Matthews, Frances Foresi, Elena Evans, Gail Macintyre, Laura Carter, Martha Garriok, Friedel Thurman

Ready to serve dinner!

There were many hungry guests, but also enough food leftover to have meals for the kids to take home!

Thank You!

Dear Lorie, Frances, Janet, Elena, Melody, Selby, Danielle, Gail, Friedel, Brandon, Martha and Laura,

All I can say is thank goodness for the JLT DIAD volunteers. Ladies, all of you just jumped in and did whatever was asked of you.  You even supplied last minute substitutions.  What a gift for me to organize Home Base’s party.

I received so many compliments as to the calibre of work that all  of you did. The object is to make the evening easy for the staff so that they can concentrate on the youth. You did this in spades. For pete’s sake, Elena even brought gloves for the servers and kitchen staff which we forgot! LOVE JLT!

Without you this event could not have taken place. It is that simple. On behalf of Pathways, please know that we are ever so indebted to how your team has reached out to help our youth, our staff and organization.

Wishing all of you a Happy New Year.

All the best in 2010.
Robyn Magee

WOW! You and your team did an absolutely amazing job yesterday – I heard that you amazed everyone by getting almost all of it done! The staff at YRMG were amazed  that you worked so hard and they were so impressed with your efficiency and wrapping capabilities. It meant so much to us to have you there helping out and showing one of our biggest community sponsors for the Angel Tree Campaign what fabulous volunteers and supporters we have! They have assured us already of their full commitment for next year too so THANK YOU!!!!! Can’t wait to see you all on Thursday night too....how lucky are we to have you in our corner!J
