Canadian Federation of Junior Leagues (CFJL)

The first Canadian Junior League was established in Montreal, Quebec in 1912.  It was followed closely by others in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Halifax, Hamilton-Burlington, Toronto and Winnipeg.
 
For over 30 years, the Canadian Federation of Junior Leagues (CFJL) has served as the link among Junior Leagues within Canada for the purpose of networking, sharing best practices and leveraging the presence of the Junior League movement in Canada. A key purpose of the Federation is to promote a strong national presence in Canada and to effectively increase the international presence of the Association of Junior Leagues International Inc. 
 
The Canadian Federation of Junior Leagues consists of five Junior Leagues across Canada: Halifax, Toronto, Hamilton-Burlington, Calgary and Edmonton. 
 
 
CFJL Mission 
 
To support the success of the Canadian Junior Leagues by: 

  • Maximizing and leveraging resources available within the National JL Network 
  • Providing benefit to active and sustaining JL members, through their participation in CFJL opportunities and
  • Creating a synergy that will position the Canadian Junior Leagues as the organization that prepares and empowers women to effect change in their communities of interest.  

CFJL Purpose 
 
CFJL represents the unique perspectives and needs of the Canadian Junior Leagues to AJLI and external stakeholders. It is a vehicle that encourages the sharing of resources maximizes synergies between the Canadian Leagues and strives to develop a national presence for leagues in Canada.
